About the event
Father & Sons (2-18 yrs old) welcome! (EG our leader, Jacob, will bring his 2.5 & 4 yr. olds). We'll hike and camp on the Siler Bald via Wayah Gap during the Eastertide Season! It is a section of the North Carolina section of the Appalachian Trail. 1.75 miles up. 1.75 miles down easy/medium terrain. No costs but provide your own food, snacks, water, and camping equipment. We'll meet Friday at 8 AM at S. Aelred and leave at 8:30 AM. It's about a two-hour drive, carpooling is welcome. Jacob grew up hiking these mountains and is in the Army National Guard.
